About Us

The Broad Road is a private social networking site dedicated to helping exJWs who have left religion behind to make new friends, communicate with them, and meet for events and parties. It's like Facebook® just for exJWs!

The founders of this site began TheBroadRoad.com with a simple goal in mind, to help exJW's find each other for socialization both online and offline. We saw there was a void in the social networking of the exJW community. At first we considered places like Facebook® Groups. Although a popular choice, Facebook® still raises many privacy concerns and the separation of "worlds" is a valid concern for many in the exJW community.

While there are a few forums to aid in recovery, there has been very little in the way of pure exJW socialization whether that be online chatting or organizing of meet-ups. It is also our goal to give you the tools to organize groups while remaining free of charge.

Due to the inherent privacy concerns, many don't feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics or being openly 'Apostate' on high profile sites like Meetup.com and Facebook.com. Being exJW's with 'believing' families ourselves, we understand your need for privacy and we take yours very seriously.
